Building Our Faith on a Strong Foundation

Greetings and blessings to everyone. This is Pastor Sandoval from Christ the Rock New Life Center Ministries. Today, as we celebrate Veterans Day, let us honor and thank all veterans who have selflessly served our country. Their courage and dedication remind us of the importance of building a strong foundation in our lives—just as they have stood strong for us, we are called to stand strong in our faith.

Building on the Rock

In Luke 6:47-49, Jesus teaches that a strong foundation is essential for weathering life’s storms. He says, "They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it." A house built on rock stands firm, while one built without a solid foundation will collapse. This teaching illustrates the importance of grounding our lives in God’s word and living out His teachings.

A firm foundation in faith enables us to withstand life’s challenges, whether they come in the form of hardship, illness, or personal loss. We may face difficulties, but with our trust anchored in Jesus, we remain unshakable.

Our Efforts in God’s Strength

In 1 Timothy 4:10, Paul encourages us to "work hard and struggle" in our walk with God, placing our confidence in Him as our Savior. This is a reminder that, while we may face trials, God is always there to lift us up. Our faith journey is not without struggle, yet it is in our striving that we grow closer to God and learn to lean on Him.

Faith and Love as Our Foundation

Paul also teaches in Ephesians 2:20 that Christ is the "Cornerstone" of our faith. Our lives and our church are to be built on the foundation of His teachings and love. As we face the pressures and distractions of life, let us remember that the truth of God’s Word and the presence of Jesus provide stability, no matter the storms we face.

2 Peter 1:5-7 further reminds us to support our faith with goodness, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, mutual affection, and love. By cultivating these qualities, we show that Christ lives within us and reflect His love to others.

Living Sacrifices for God’s Purpose

As believers, we are called to live out our faith through our actions. With our sins forgiven, we are called to present our bodies as living sacrifices, serving God wholeheartedly. Baptism in Jesus' name symbolizes this commitment, representing the cleansing of our sins and the new life we have in Him.

Letting Our Light Shine

In closing, I leave you with this challenge: let your life reflect the love and teachings of Christ. As followers of Jesus, we must bear the fruit of the Spirit—showing love, kindness, and compassion to all. When we live in obedience to God, we become a testimony of His love and power.

This is Pastor Sandoval from Christ the Rock New Life Center Ministries. Let us continue to build our lives on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, showing His love and grace to everyone around us. God bless you all.
