Facing Giants with Faith: A Message from Pastor Johnny Sandoval Jr.

Praise the Lord, everyone! Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s a blessing to share this message with you on this wonderful Saturday, January 18. I pray this message brings encouragement to your heart as we reflect on God’s Word and His power in our lives.

Recently, I had the joy of spending time with my dear friend Bishop King and his wife in Pismo Beach. We shared a wonderful dinner, celebrated our anniversaries, and spent time in prayer and a brief Bible study. Moments like these remind me of the importance of fellowship and the strength we gain from coming together in God’s presence.

Overcoming Giants in Our Lives

Today, I want to talk about "Giant Slayers." Every one of us faces giants in life—challenges that seem insurmountable, trials that test our faith, and struggles that threaten to pull us down. As Christians, we must remain vigilant and prepared because the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

But here’s the good news: God gives us the ability to overcome these giants. Every trial we face, every struggle we endure, is an opportunity for God to demonstrate His power and faithfulness in our lives.

God Fights Our Battles

The psalmist David declared in Psalm 35:1-2:
“Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.”

David understood the power of trusting God to fight his battles. When we feel surrounded by the enemy, when the struggles of life weigh heavy on us, we can call upon the Lord to stand by our side and deliver us.

Sometimes, the enemy’s attacks come in the form of fear, doubt, or discouragement. They may target our homes, families, or even our faith. Yet, we are not defeated, for God is with us. Isaiah 54:17 reminds us:
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”

Strength Through Christ

In Philippians 4:13, the apostle Paul declares:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

This is the promise we hold on to when facing life’s giants. Through Christ, we have the strength to rise above challenges, overcome fear, and stand victorious.

The enemy may bruise us, may throw obstacles in our path, but with God on our side, we will not be defeated. God is our shield, our strength, and our deliverer.

Encouragement for the Week Ahead

Whatever giant you are facing today, know this: God is with you. You are not alone in your battles. Trust in His Word, lean on His promises, and call upon His name.

Let us also remember the importance of coming together in fellowship and prayer. Encourage one another, lift each other up, and stand united in faith.

As we go through this week, I invite you to reflect on these truths:

  • God fights for you.
  • You have the strength to overcome any challenge through Christ.
  • No weapon formed against you will prosper.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your strength, Your promises, and Your unfailing love. Help us to face the giants in our lives with faith and courage, knowing that You are always with us. Bless everyone reading this message, and may they find hope and victory in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

May God bless you and your families. Have a wonderful weekend, and remember: you are victorious in Christ.

In His service,
Pastor Johnny Sandoval Jr.
