The Shadow of His Strength: A Reflection on Faith and Perseverance
Praise the Lord! On this blessed Sunday evening, we come together to give thanks to God for His greatness and faithfulness. As Pastor Sandoval of Christ the Rock New Life Center Ministry, I welcome you to this reflection on The Shadow of His Strength—a study on God’s protection, provision, and presence in our lives.
Fear and Uncertainty in the World
As the world changes and uncertainty grows, many people are overwhelmed with fear. The worries of life—economic struggles, rising costs, and the unknown future—can leave us feeling anxious. Many ask, “What will become of me in the next ten years?” The truth is, none of us know what the future holds, but we do know who holds our future.
The Bible teaches us not to worry. Psalm 23:1 reminds us:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
God is our provider. He knows our needs, and He will supply everything for us. There is no reason to fear when we walk in His presence. Instead of worrying about tomorrow, we must place our trust in Him.
God is Near to Those Who Call on Him
Psalm 145:18 states:
“The Lord is near unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.”
This verse reminds us that sincerity in prayer is key. God desires that we come before Him with an honest heart, laying our needs at His feet. When we pray with faith and sincerity, He listens and answers according to His will.
If you are in need—whether it be a job, financial provision, or strength—ask God in the name of Jesus. Pray boldly and trust that He is near, ready to provide for His children.
Dwelling in the Shadow of the Almighty
Psalm 91:1-2 declares:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.”
This scripture paints a powerful image of God’s protection. To dwell in His presence is to remain safe under His covering. When we abide in Him, we find safety, refuge, and peace.
The Hebrew word Elyon (Most High) signifies God’s supremacy—He is above all. There is no greater protection than that of the Most High God. No matter what storm you face, know that His shadow covers you, shielding you from harm.
God’s Strength in Times of Trouble
Psalm 46:1 proclaims:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
No matter what you are going through—whether in the valley or on the mountaintop—God is with you. When storms rage and trials come, He remains our place of safety. We are never alone.
When the enemy tries to shake us, we must stand firm in the power of the Holy Spirit. We have authority through Jesus Christ to rebuke the enemy. The Lord gives us the strength to overcome every battle. Hold your head high and declare, “God is with me!”
