Midweek Encouragement: A Call to Prayer and Gratitude

Praise the Lord, everyone! This is Pastor Sandoval, here at Christ the Rock New Life Ministries, and I just want to take a moment to thank everyone joining us for our Wednesday evening Bible study. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to connect with you all and dive into God’s Word together.
Before we get started, I’d like to extend a special invitation to anyone in need of prayer. Whether you or someone you know is going through a difficult time, struggling with illness, or just feeling overwhelmed, I encourage you to share your prayer requests in the comments. We're here for each other as a community, and I want you to know that we're lifting up those in need—especially those battling sickness like cancer. Leave a comment, and we will pray for you. Amen!
Now, let’s dive into the Word, and today we are reading from Psalms 5. David says:
“Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.”
“Harken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God, for unto thee will I pray.”
David is calling on God, trusting that He hears every word and knows our deepest thoughts. Isn't that beautiful? God understands us completely—He sees our struggles, hears our cries, and knows our innermost thoughts. David's cry is a reminder that God is not only King of Kings, but also the One who listens, cares, and responds.
We pray because God hears. David says, “My voice shalt thou hear in the morning.” There’s something special about starting your day with God. When He wakes us up each morning, it's a new gift of life. How many of us can say that our first thought is to thank Him for waking us up? It’s important to start your day with a heart full of gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Jesus, for another day!”
Even on those days when we’re tired or when we oversleep—God still gives us time to rest and refresh. Amen! But when we wake up, let’s not forget to lift up our heads and give thanks. The enemy wants to weigh us down, to have us walk with our heads hanging low, but we are called to stand tall and walk in the strength that God gives us. When we keep our heads up, we show that we trust God to lead and protect us.
I also want to take a moment to thank God for the little things, like the sunshine in the morning. Even here in Salinas, where we don’t always get much sun, it's been a blessing to wake up to clear skies lately. So, let’s not take these small blessings for granted—let’s start each day with prayer, gratitude, and praise.
To close, I want to remind you once more—if you or someone you know is going through a tough time, let us know in the comments so we can pray for them. We are a community of faith, and prayer is our greatest connection to God and to each other.
God bless you all! This is Pastor Sandoval from Christ the Rock New Life Ministries, and we love you. Stay strong in the Lord, and remember, God hears you and walks with you every step of the way.
Amen and God bless!
